1. Survey questions.

Write survey questions to find out what other students think about recycling and environmental issues.

For example:

• Do you think that the things we put in recycling bins are really recycled effectively?
• Do you make an effort to avoid buying products with excessive packaging?
• To what extent is waste recycled where you live?

Post your questions in the Forum. Read and answer the questions that other students have posted. Follow up any interesting discussions that evolve.

2. Mystery word.

Choose five words that come up in this unit that you didn't know before and that interest you. Write definitions for the words.

For example:

This is an interesting word. It has lots of consonants in it but just one vowel. It means "a split, an ideological disagreement". Do you know what the word is?

I like the sound of this word. It sounds a bit like the name of a stone fruit! Anyway, it's a verb and it means "to have strong affection for something".

Post your definitions in the Forum so that other students can try to guess the words. Read the definitions that other students have posted. Do you know which words they describe or define?
